NBA 2K21 Releases All-Star Update After Coming to Xbox Game Pass

Ahead of the NBA All-Star Weekend, NBA 2K21 has released an All-Star update, tweaking player ratings, adding clothing drops, and more.

The NBA is gearing up for the All-Star Weekend held in Atlanta, Georgia with all festivities taking place on March 7th. While players are preparing to take on the Skills Challenge, the Dunk Contest, and the Three-point Contest, NBA 2K21 players are also in for a treat. Just today, NBA 2K21 has released an All-Star update, tweaking ratings for many of this year’s All-Stars, adding the full All-Star team lineups, releasing the 2021 All-Star jerseys, and adding clothing drops only available over the All-Star Weekend.

Many of the All-Star participants have received changes to their NBA 2K21 overall ratings including Joel Embiid, Nikola Jokic, Kyrie Irving, Bradley Beal, and more. Unfortunately, even after making the All-Star lineup, some of the players have received a decrease in their rating, with Kyrie Irving dropping one point to a 91 overall rating, and Bradley Beal dropping one point to a 90 overall rating, despite leading the league in points per game.

Many of the All-Star participants are getting ratings boosts including MVP frontrunners Joel Embiid boosted from a 94 to a 95 overall rating, and Nikola Jokic also boosted one point to a 95 overall. Western All-Stars Zion Williamson also has been boosted one point to a 89 overall, Donovan Mitchell has been raised one point to an 88 rating, and first time All-Star Julius Randle also is boosted one point to an 87 overall. Suns dynamic duo Devin Booker and Chris Paul will also appear in the All-Star game with a rating boost that puts them both at 88 overalls.

Along with the ratings update, 2K has also added the 2021 All-Star teams led by Lebron James and Kevin Durant. Also several MyTeam cards have been added including Dark Matter Heroes 99 overall Michael Jordan and Zion Williamson. To celebrate the All-Star Weekend players can also jump into new challenges in MyTeam called the All-Star Spotlight Sim, which will task players to take on some of history’s greatest All-Star players for a chance to win a free bike for one fan’s MyPlayer.

The update will add new clothing drops from several iconic brands. This weekend only, players can shop for new clothing items by brands including Just Don, Bape, Staple, and Eric Emmanuel. The All-Star update has already dropped, so players can load into NBA 2K21 to see all the new ratings, as well as the All-Star teams.

Xbox Game Pass owners are getting quite the treat leading into All-Star Weekend. NBA 2K21 is now available on Xbox Game Pass as of today, so players can download the game with the newest update and enjoy all the All-Star festivities.

NBA 2K21 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
