NBA 2K22 likely won’t release until September. However, fans are already speculating about a demo for the game that will come out a little bit before it launches.
The demo should offer a glance at new gameplay features, and what’s new for MyPlayer. Here is everything we know so far.
NBA 2K22 Demo
There hasn’t always been a beta testing period for NBA 2K, but last year’s NBA 2K21 did see a proper demo released ahead of the game’s launch.
The demo can give NBA 2K fans a chance to try out the game before committing to it fully and buying it. It’s often released with plenty of time to test out the game’s new MyPlayer builds and gameplay features.
NBA 2K22 Demo Release Date
Since NBA 2K21’s demo was released a little over a week before the game came out, we can expect the same from NBA 2K22. NBA 2K21’s demo was released on August 24, 2020, and the game launched on September 4, 2020.
Knowing that NBA 2K22 is expected to be released at a similar time, the demo should come out between August 27, 2021 and September 3, 2021.
NBA 2K is consistently released somewhere in the beginning of September so expect the NBA 2K22 demo a week or two beforehand.
Last year’s demo came with multiple gameplay options to test out NBA 2K21.
NBA 2K21’s demo let users play five quick games. There were four teams available to play with in last year’s demo: the Milwaukee Bucks, the Los Angeles Clippers, the All-Time Lakers, and the All-Time Celtics.
Last year’s demo also allowed players to try out 2KU while it was downloading. 2KU guided players through new features and gameplay tricks. Fans should expect a similar mode to show them where the NBA 2K series is at in 2022.
Between five quick games and 2KU, users should get a detailed glimpse at what NBA 2K22’s gameplay has to offer. And that’s not all we expect in the NBA 2K22 demo.
In the NBA 2K21 demo, users could also try out the MyPlayer builder. We should anticipate a similar function in this year’s NBA 2K22 demo.
The MyPlayer builder let users try out all the new MyPlayer builds and look at all the badges that were added and removed from the game.
The NBA 2K21 demo also let users test out their MyPlayer in a MyPlayer-style exhibition game. This let fans fell all the new builds in action before ever buying the game.
