The EGS gives away lots of freebies with the current free game on offer being Among Us. This title was the Mystery Game unveiled on May 27th, and suffice to say some people were massively disappointed thanks to it already costing nothing on mobile. But, with the next title set to be uncovered in just a couple of days, some people are asking: what is the Epic Games Store Mystery Game for June 3rd? Here you’ll find an explanation of the current Epic Games Store Mystery Game leak and rumours circling the web.
While the current free offering is Among Us, know that the EGS Mega Sale is also available until June 17th. This offering has sales for a bunch of AAA titles such as Cyberpunk 2077, the Kingdom Hearts series, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and Red Dead Redemption 2.
There’s still a few more weeks to take advantage of the EGS Mega Sale, and below you’ll find an explanation of the current leak and rumours for what the next Epic Games Store freebie will be for June 3rd.
What is the next free Epic Game?
The next free Epic Games Store title is a Mystery Game that will be revealed on June 3rd.
This next free Epic Game will be revealed at 16:00 BST and will replace Among Us.
Among Us was a disappointing surprise for many thanks to it costing little on PC while costing nothing on mobile.
In addition, the gaming community was also expecting all of the mystery games to be AAA products.
The first title was massive thanks to being NBA 2K21, and this was leaked in advance on Twitter by Hypex.
Reddit then allegedly leaked the May 27th title as Rise of the Tomb Raider, but it instead turned out to be Among Us.
Although Rise of the Tomb Raider didn’t come to fruition, it’s the community’s only leak as of writing.
What is the Epic Games Store Mystery Game?
The Epic Games Store Mystery Game for June 3rd hasn’t been revealed.
However, per last week’s leak, some people are expecting the Epic Games Store Mystery Game to be Rise of the Tomb Raider.
Rise of the Tomb Raider was expected for May 27th thanks to a screengrab of an alleged post from the French Epic Games account on Facebook.
The alleged screengrab said the following per Google Translate:
“Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration: free on PC until June 3rd. Always yours on Epic Games Store.”
The “free on PC until June 3rd” would suggest that the title was meant to be the May 27th Mystery Game, but that obviously never happened.
That could mean the leak was completely bogus, but some people are suggesting that Rise of the Tomb Raider may have been moved to June 3rd thanks to that being the date when its 80% sale on Steam ends.
It makes sense in theory, but it’s also highly possible that the leak was just fake.
Rather than expecting Lara Croft to land on the EGS, you’d be better off keeping your expectations low.
Don’t expect Red Dead Redemption 2 as it’s already a part of the Mega Sale, and don’t think that another AAA title is absolute.
