Josh Hart of the New Orleans Pelicans got little love on NBA2k21.
The New Orleans Pelicans had three players ranked in the top-100 on NBA2K21, but Josh Hart wasn’t one of them.
Zion Williamson, who has played all of 24 games in his career, was 29th, with an overall rating of 86, while his teammate Brandon Ingram came in 30th and also had an 86 overall rating.
Zion is obviously helped by his 97 dunk rating, though B.I. probably thinks these should be reversed, as he averaged more points, assists, made the All-Star team and was the league’s Most Improved Player.
Jrue Holiday came in at 56th with an 83 rating and there is a solid argument that he could and should be much higher on the list.
But the biggest snub was Josh Hart, who not only didn’t make the top-100 but had a much lower rating than at least four guys on the list who were questionable additions.

New Orleans Pelicans: Josh Hart should be in the NBA2K21 Top-100
NBA2K always gets something wrong, and this time, it was Josh Hart. Hart is only rated 75, which is middle of the pack, not bad, but fairly mediocre.
It’s not like Josh Hart is an All-Star, but when you see some of the other players on the list, it’s hard to see how Hart was left off.
Eric Paschall was rated a 79 after just one season where he put up numbers on the worst team in the NBA. Sorry, but Paschall wouldn’t have even stepped on the floor if Golden State didn’t have so many injuries.
He was the 41st pick in the draft and as a power forward, got fewer rebounds per game than Josh Hart even though they played the same number of minutes. Paschall must have a cousin who works for NBA2K.
Wendell Carter Jr. of the Bulls is a nice player who averages 11.3 points and 9.4 rebounds in 29 minutes, but is he really that much better than Josh Hart? Carter Jr. was rated as an 80, five points higher than Hart, which seems absurd.
Same for Christian Wood, who put up big numbers on a terrible Pistons team that didn’t play a single meaningful game this season. Wood averaged fewer rebounds than Hart, played ZERO defense and somehow ended up with an 80 rating after one season of mop-up duty.
I’d say the same for Lauri Markkanen, another power forward who can’t rebound or defend. There is no way he is five points better than Josh Hart, sorry.
Josh Hart is hopefully on the verge of a breakout season that will catapult him past all of these guys, but for now, he’ll have to settle for being a 75 rated slasher who got snubbed.
