The NBA 2K League announced Tuesday that the 2021 16-week regular season for the league will begin on May 19 and culminate in a final competition on Sept. 4. Twenty-three teams will play 28 regular-season games each from their local markets, leading to a playoff featuring 12 teams beginning Aug. 26.

The top five teams in the Eastern and Western Conferences at the end of the regular season will automatically qualify for the playoffs, with the 13 remaining teams competing for the two final spots.

The 2021 season will begin May 19 with THE TIPOFF Powered by AT&T,  and the finals will take place Sept. 4, with DoorDash serving as the lead sponsor.  The 2021 season will have a total prize pool of $1.5M USD.

Earlier this month, NBA 2K League announced a multi-year partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment naming the PlayStation 5 the official console of the league, meaning that all official competitions will be played on PS5.
