NBA 2K22 is set to bring the long standing basketball game into a new era this year on next-gen, but not without continuing to deliver on Xbox One.
Despite the title growing for next gen consoles, here’s everything we know so far about NBA2K22 on Xbox One.
NBA 2K22 Reveal Trailer
For now, information about the NBA 2K22 is hard to come by, but that should change in the next few months as the game is officially announced.
We’ll likely get our first peek of NBA 2K22 when the reveal trailer comes out. In past years, the reveal trailer has dropped in June: so expect it sometime next month.
It’s also possible we see a reveal during E3 2021, which is set to take place from Saturday June 12 to Tuesday, June 15. However, NBA 2K22 might continue 2K Sports’ recent trend of not having a significant presence at that event.
No matter what, we can expect NBA 2K22’s first major trailer before the end of June 2021.
Release Date on Xbox One
Right now, there’s not an established release date for NBA 2K22 on Xbox One, but that won’t stop us from speculating when the game could come out.
Last year, things went a little differently as the game was released on current gen before next gen, but it’s more likely that we’ll see a launch for all platforms simultaneously.
Judging by previous release dates for NBA 2K, we’ll probably see NBA 2K22 on Xbox One drop around September 10, 2021.
Price on Xbox One
As next gen version carry upgraded graphics and exclusive features or game modes like The City, current gen should stay at it’s typical price.
NBA 2K22 will likely cost a $70 on next gen consoles, but fans can expect it to be the usual $60 on current gen platforms.
NBA 2K22 on Xbox One will probably cost more than $60 for upgraded versions that come with extra rewards. Players can anticipate those versions to be priced between $85 and $99 in total.
NBA 2K22 Pre Order
NBA 2K22 on Xbox One is not available to pre-order just yet, and that’s likely not going to change for at least a few more weeks.
NBA 2K21’s pre-orders went up on July 2, 2020, but that was after the cover athlete had been revealed for the title.
Since we still don’t know the cover athlete for NBA 2K22, pre-orders are probably a ways away.
Current Gen Game Modes
Unfortunately, fans will likely not see new next gen game modes like The City come to current gen consoles.
Although, it’s possible we could see NBA 2K22 try to enhance existing modes like MyTEAM and MyPLAYER to compensate for the lack of The City mode on current gen.
Since the supply for Xbox Series X|S and PS5 is still limited, NBA 2K22 will probably have a lot more players on current gen, so 2K Sports can’t ignore improvement to current gen.
