For Evan Mobley, realizing he’s achieved his goal of making it to the NBA is finally sinking in.
But the third overall pick by Cavaliers still wasn’t prepared to see himself larger than life on a downtown Cleveland billboard.
“I saw my billboard the first day I got here. I didn’t expect that,” Mobley said Wednesday. “I was just driving down the street and they pointed it out. I was like, ‘Oh, shoot.’
“It’s crazy because my face was on a huge platform and had my name and everybody that drives by can see it. It was just amazing.”
The Cavaliers put up three billboards downtown. One posted on social media reads, “Welcome to The Land, Evan Mobley,” with his photo and the team’s shield logo.
